Birthday boat trip in Marbella: how to plan it
Most of the birthdays we take out start the same way: one person in the group decides that this year, the birthday is not going to be another restaurant. They are reading this on their phone, probably with four other tabs open. This is the page for them.
Why a boat, and why a private one
A birthday on the water is the one day of the holiday everyone remembers, because it is the one nobody else in Marbella is doing at the same time. On a shared tour boat you are on a timetable with forty strangers. On a private boat it is your group, your playlist, your pace — the skipper runs the boat and you run the day. Up to eight guests, and that is a hard limit, which is exactly what makes it feel like yours.
Which charter for a birthday?
Four hours — the Mediterranean (€779, about €98 each with eight). The one most birthday groups choose. Time to cruise the Golden Mile, anchor off the Marbella Club with the floating Barco Bar alongside, swim, get on the paddleboard and the floating platform, and open the Prosecco without watching the clock.
The Sunset Cruise (€499, about €63 each). Two hours through the golden hour — the day boats gone, the coast turning gold, cake as the sun drops. Best for a smaller group, a couple, or an evening the whole family can do before dinner in the old town.
Two hours — the Coastal Escape (€449, about €57 each). If the birthday is one stop in a bigger day: a run along the coast, a swim, back for lunch.
If you are torn, book the four hours. Nobody has ever said it was too long.
Cake, decorations, the sash
Yes to all of it. Banners, balloons, a cake, a sash and tiara — bring what you like. Arrive ten minutes early and we will help you set up on board before the birthday guest steps aboard, so the surprise lands as they walk down the pontoon. There is fridge space and a cool box for the cake. Tell us on WhatsApp what you are planning and we will keep the boat quiet until you say go.
What is included
Your skipper, fuel, a welcome Prosecco plus a selection of cold beers, soft drinks and water — chilled and ready on board — snorkel gear, the paddleboard and floating platform, lifejackets in every size, the SPACEdeck shade, a Bluetooth sound system for your playlist, and photos and videos of the group taken on the day and sent to you afterwards. More is stocked on board to buy: extra Prosecco €25 a bottle, other drinks €1 a can. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink too. Book direct and there is a second bottle of Prosecco on us.
Where the photos happen
The bow with La Concha behind, everyone with a glass up. The four of you on the paddleboard. The floating platform off the beach at golden hour. Your skipper takes the photos and the videos so the organiser is actually in them for once. We send them on WhatsApp the same evening.
Birthdays in winter
We run every month. From late October the sun sets between about 17:45 and 18:30, so a winter birthday Sunset Cruise leaves mid-afternoon and has you back alongside before dinner — the old town is a nine-minute walk from the berth. The sea is calmer in winter than most people expect, and when it is not, you move your date free of charge. Here is what a winter boat trip is actually like.

How to book it
Pick a date and departure time on the booking calendar and secure it with a 25% deposit by card, or message Jason on WhatsApp with the date, the group size and what you are planning. He replies himself, usually within the hour. Balance on the day; free date change up to 7 days before.

Always. Every charter is fully private — up to 8 guests and your skipper.
Can we play our own music?
Yes — there’s a Bluetooth speaker on board. Send the playlist ahead if you want it ready.
Do we pay now?
A 25% deposit secures your date — by card on the booking calendar or by a secure payment link on WhatsApp — and the balance is paid on the day. Date changes are free up to 7 days before, and if we cancel for weather you reschedule free.
